Why dentures get loose
Your gums and jawbone slowly change shape over the years (and faster after extractions). The denture stays the same, so a gap opens up between it and your gums — and that gap is what causes movement, food trapping, and sore spots. A reline refits the inside surface of your existing denture to your gums as they are today.
Hard reline
A hard reline adds a new layer of durable acrylic to the fitting surface. It's the long-lasting choice for a denture that's otherwise in good shape.

Soft reline
A soft reline uses a cushioned, pliable material — ideal for patients with tender, flat, or bony ridges who find a hard surface uncomfortable.

When a reline isn't enough
If your denture is cracked, worn, or the teeth are flattened, a reline is a band-aid — a new digital denture is the better answer.
