Week 1: New muscle memory

This settles quickly — most people say it's largely gone within a week.
Weeks 2–3: Eating comes back
This is usually the turning point. Patients start reintroducing foods they'd quietly given up years ago — an apple, a piece of steak, corn on the cob. Because the bite force transfers into your jawbone through the implants instead of pinching your gums, chewing feels fundamentally different from a traditional denture. Go slow with very sticky or hard foods at first; by the end of week three, most patients are eating close to normally.

No more avoiding a handshake with someone standing close. It clips in, it stays, and your brain quietly stops monitoring it — which is really the whole point.
Is it like this for everyone?
Individual healing and adjustment speed vary — some patients feel fully settled by week two, others take closer to six weeks, especially with an upper arch. What doesn't vary much is the direction: it gets better every week, not worse.
